Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 15, 2026

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device when you visit them. At Zalmetico we use them responsibly and transparently. This policy explains exactly which cookies we use, what they're for and how you can control them.

1. What are cookies and why do they exist?

A cookie is a small piece of data that your browser saves on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information between visits, such as your language preferences or whether you've already accepted this notice. Without cookies, the site would treat you as a completely new visitor every time you opened the browser, making the experience much less comfortable.

2. Cookies we use on Zalmetico

We use three types of cookies: (a) Essential or technical cookies: these are indispensable for the site's basic operation. They include the cookie that records your cookie consent choice (zalmetico_cookie_consent) and the one that stores your language preference. Without these cookies, the site cannot function properly. (b) Analytics cookies: we use Google Analytics 4 in anonymized mode to understand how visitors interact with the portal. All data is processed in aggregate form and never allows you to be identified individually. (c) Preference cookies: store optional settings that make your visit more comfortable.

3. Third-party cookies

Google Analytics, our analytics tool provider, may set its own cookies. Google processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled, so your IP address is truncated before being processed.

4. Cookie duration

Session cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies have different lifetimes: the consent cookie lasts 12 months, the language preference cookie lasts 30 days. Google Analytics cookies last between 30 days and 2 years depending on their type.

5. How to manage or reject cookies

You have full control over cookies. You can use Zalmetico's cookie banner to accept or reject non-essential cookies when you first visit the site. You can also configure your browser to block or delete all cookies. The steps vary by browser: in Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies; in Firefox, Preferences > Privacy & Security; in Safari, Preferences > Privacy. Please note that blocking all cookies may affect some features of the site.

6. Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in our cookie practices or applicable regulations. The last updated date at the top of this document indicates when the last revision took place. If the changes are significant, we will communicate them prominently on the site.
